because it makes you feel less of a man to be so impotent.
Oddly enough, Osama “the beard” bin Laden and Arianna Huffington agree with Kos, but they are all on the same side, after all.
This is the most pathetic whinging I’ve seen (lately) from the leftists re: the Dems not surrendering quickly enough. Newsflash nutroots: the “narrative” as you like to say, has changed. Even hard-left anti-war congressmen are coming back and saying the sitch is improving. Even friggin’ Katie Couric is grudgingly admitting it. You’ve lost your war to lose the war. There is absolutely no way the American public is going to stand for withdrawal to the point we snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, and Dem politicians know this, even if you don’t, and they ain’t going down with the surrender monkey ship.
Kos goes on and on about Obama and Hillary! not even mentioning it on their webspaces. What are they going to say? They can’t say we’re losing and “the President’s failed policy” is to blame anymore, so they can’t say anything at all, for fear of angering you guys. We’ve come to a pass where partisan gain is more important than winning a vital war. And if we win the war, the left is so invested in defeat that they will look bad if America wins.
Unless they ratchet back a notch or two. There’s no one who doesn’t want the troops to come home, over here or in Iraq. The question is when. The President, and Congress is working towards agreeing, thinks it should be when Petraeus says they should, which will be when Iraq can stand for itself. The nutroots want it to be Spring 2004, but will settle for the end of 2007. They ain’t gonna get it.
It increasingly appears Hillary! is the Dem nominee, and it increasingly appears any of 3 and possibly 4 Republicans can beat her handily. They are unlikely to pull the troops out willy-nilly.
Its said the defining characteristic of the nutroots is anger. Prepare for at least 4 more years of anger, lefty wingers.
Osama should do a Kos diary:
Bin Laden also spoke to the ongoing situation in Iraq throughout the tape, heavily criticizing the Bush administration.
He says to the American people, “you made one of your greatest mistakes, in that you neither brought to account nor punished those who waged this war, not even the most violent of its murderers, [former Defense Secretary Donald] Rumsfeld…”
“You permitted Bush to complete his first term, and stranger still, chose him for a second term, which gave him a clear mandate from you — with your full knowledge and consent — to continue to murder our people in Iraq and Afghanistan. Then you claim to be innocent! The innocence of yours is like my innocence of the blood of your sons on the 11th — were I to claim such a thing.”
Bin Laden says President Bush’s words echo “neoconservatives like Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Richard Perle.”
“People of America: the world is following your news in regards to your invasion of Iraq, for people have recently come to know that, after several years of tragedies of this war, the vast majority of you want it stopped. Thus, you elected the Democratic Party for this purpose, but the Democrats haven’t made a move worth mentioning. On the contrary, they continue to agree to the spending of tens of billions to continue the killing and war there.”
