New blog header. The 2010 fireworks were already almost 4 months old. Can you believe its been nearly a third of the year since New Year’s? I can’t. Well, what’s happening this fine Sunday? Its raining here on the Suncoast but it looks like the sun might come out in a few. Its baseball season, and who gives a flying fuck at a rolling donut? Only old people watch baseball, because their mind works so slowly. The Pennsylvania primary is in two days and there will be a big story either way. Weirdly, I actually think Hillary! might come back, against all odds. It will be the white people refuting the choice of the blacks and the far left, and there will be a reckoning, but I think the adults are beginning to fear down-ticket disaster.
Over at protein wisdom, Karl is refuting Frank Rich’s assertion that people didn’t like the first half of the latest Dem debate, with all the “gotcha” (god I hate that “word”) moments: In reality, more than 10 million viewers tuned into Wednesday’s Democratic debate on ABC, making it the most-watched debate of the primary election season. More watched the first hour Rich despises than the second. Well, not to defend frank rich, but the fact that more watched in the first hour than the second could mean he’s right, and they tuned out in disgust. In reality though, I think the Wright/BitterCling/flagpin/never proud of my country/Goddamerica stuff is defining Obama right when people are starting to pay attention. I think most of America missed Obama’s high point and are wondering what the fuss was about now. I can see no scenario for him winning in November unless McCain dies before then. I didn’t think it was possible, but if the new Gallup poll is right and Hillary! has made up 10 pts to pass Obama nationally, and she wins Penn by double digits, he may have a real problem on his hands with Dem buyer’s remorse. I don’t know wth they are going to do, but I’m going to enjoy it. There’s gonna be recriminations a’plenty come the 2nd week of November. Dean out? God, I hope not! You know something interesting, I don’t even know who the head of the RNC is, he’s that low key. Dean is such a bigmouth, and nothing he says is attractive to the audience he needs to stroke. I can’t believe Hillary isn’t making more of Obama’s “wipe the shit off my shoe” gesture. She could really play the victim here, play into his “elitism” and arrogance meme and hurt him on this. The “rap” tie-in (its something originated, I gather, by Jay-Z, some fucking rapper.) Most decent Americans fucking hate rap, so that will hurt him as well, I’d think. She could play it like “he is basically saying I’m shit, and all my supporters are shit, and women are shit” etc. It would be a great gimmick, she should get on making a video for YouTube with Jay Z, showing the non-rap fan what its about, then play the speech with him flipping her off, wiping the “dirt” off his shoulders then the shit off his shoes. It would be another week’s worth of fun! I do see the Dowdy old broad is covering it, maybe it will get some air this week. That’s all.
