Its about 40% more detailed, almost all HOM from too many 2-sided linedefs visible has been eliminated, all angle wall HOM eliminated, better access to all areas, better sniping sites and just overall better gameplay and design. Also, please send me your best demos of this level! ******************************SPOILERS BELOW************************************************ It has been brought to our attention the puzzles in this version are so difficult that a spoiler text should be included. Here's how to get thru (but not how to keep from getting killed) 1. GO into the towers to your EAST and WEST- there you can get ammo, rocket gun, chaingun and snipe the machinegunners, imps and other nasties guarding the entrance in relative safety. Careful with that rocket launcher. 2. GO North on the Western bank of Western leg the moat. At the end, on the Eastern side there is a small room- inside there is a switch (among other things) to lower the first gate allowing you past the entrance stairs. The room is a good place to hide out and snipe the cacos that you are going to release if you grab the ammo on the West side. 3. GO up the stairs jump diagonally to the door on the SE tower around the moat. If you don't kill the SOLDIER inside, he'll open the door for you. If you kill him, or he's just being an asshole, you have to go all the way around the castle via the Eastern leg of the Moat, heading NE to the ACID SPILL zone, go into the lift and trip the switch, opening the door permenently. 4. Enter the door and make your way to the top. Click the LION switch, this raises the bridge. 5. Jump to the SW tower door, enter and find YELLOW SKULL KEY- there is also one in the NE tower, which you can enter using the teleporter in the NE corner of the entrance moat area. 6. Jump into moat, use teleport in NW corner to enter NW tower 7. Click LION switch, opening BIG DOOR 8. Enter the BIG DOOR and use the teleport in the SE corner of the room 9. Lower the lift in the munitions room and enter the guardroom directly in front of you 10. The guardroom door is activated by the LION switch on the SE wall. LION switches also lower the lift 11. Click the GARGOYLE switch to open the door in the NE corner of the munitions room 12. Go out the door and get the BLUE KEY 13. Reenter the teleport back to the entry room and go to the SW corner and open the GARGOYLE face door, and trip the switch (requires BLUE KEY). 14. This opens the cage allowing you to enter the teleport in the SW corner, right next to the GARGOYLE face door. 15. Teleport into the cave, make your way upstairs to the CHAINGUNNER room 16. Trip LION switch which lowers barrier to RED KEY in entry room. 15. Return to ENTRY ROOM and click LION switches on either side of front doors, triggering stairs. 16. Climb stairs, jump to RED KEY 17. Open hidden door at top of NW stairs, trip switch to lower barrier wall. 18. Cross to NE side, trip RED KEY switch to OPEN BIG DOOR #2 19. Enter BLACK ROOM 20. GIANT SKULL SWITCH on backside of large black column at mid-North end of the room raises floor 21. LION SWITCH in NW Baron room lowers lift at far-North end of the room 22. Ascend lift and enter CRUSHING CEILING hallway 23. Go to the end (hi Archie!) and transport to the throne room 24. After you clear the room (!) ascend the throne 25. Teleports you to the exit. Careful, sometimes a cybie teleports there. If so, you are pretty much dead, after all your hard work, unless you saved the INVULNERABLE artifact in the throne room and you have enough plasma left to frag him with the BFG9000 before it wears off. Sorry about that. Lots of other trips and secrets, find them out yourself or cheat and use an editor to find them.
