Hey, anyone wanna catch Charles Johnson in a stupid act? read this:
http://littlegreenfootballs.com/article/36945/
Johnson’s stupid point is, wow, the GOP really hates mosques, yet they have a MINAFUCKINGRET IN THEIR CONVENTION LOGO!~!! THEY ARE OK WITH MOSQUES WHEN IT SUITS THEM BUT…rantrant rant spit drool spittle flecked rant fall overinmyown vomit godI suck Im CHARLIEFU CKINGJOHNSON!
which is a barely coherent point to begin with, but it gets worse.
I’m from Tampa, I haven’t heard anyone mention this: the minaret is the University of Tampa, famous for it’s minarets, nothing to do with Islam.
Plant, the railroad guy, built it, it had something to do with St. Augustine and his love for Eastern architecture, there is a “palace” house he built there called the Alhambra or something.
Nothing to do with Islam. But read Johnson’s stupid point. Really funny fail 😉
Plant Hall – UT’s main building – is heavily steeped in Moorish influences, and serves as a leading example of Moorish Revival architecture in the southeastern United States. Plant Hall also serves as a focal point of downtown Tampa, and is a local landmark.
The school’s newspaper is named The Minaret, a reference to the spires adorning Plant Hall. Formerly the old Tampa Bay Hotel, Plant Hall is a National Historic Landmark built in 1891 by Henry B. Plant. In addition to serving as the main location of classrooms and faculty and administrative offices, the building also houses the Henry B. Plant Museum dedicated to the hotel’s glory days. The museum regularly holds special exhibits, often highlighting the late-19th century, and admission is free for all students. The campus also includes the former McKay Auditorium, built in the 1920s and remodeled in to late 1990s to become the John H. Sykes College of Business.
UPDATE: no update from Swingin’ Johnson, no one in the comments has told him yet, must be no Tampa fans for LGF (we are pretty smart people, after all).
UPDATE: Well, chuckles DID finally update his post: he removed “Muslims” and replaced it with “Moorish Hordes” to try to deflect that fact he was a dumbass in his initial reaction to the “minaret” in the GOP convention logo, which he mistook for a mosque and GOP pandering by including one.
Now it reads:
Aieee! While everyone’s been distracted by the evil terror mosque looming over Ground Zero, the Moorish Horde™ has already infiltrated an even more sacred and venerable institution: the logo of the 2012 Republican National Convention Host Committee.
We’re doomed. All aboard. Next stop sharia law.
The minarets ARE indeed a reflection of Moorish architecture, which Plant, the builder, admired, but chuckles johnson didn’t say that in his first draft, he used the word Muslim hordes.
Par for the course from a serial liar.
