Casey ran track, and a fine runner she was, able to outrun most of the boys, even though she wasn’t quite 14, and in the 8th grade. She didn’t have much of a figure yet, or as she called it, she had a stick figure.
Having been molested by one of her Mother’s former lovers had left Casey shy around boys, and she took her aggression out on running, and seeking the acceptance of the Nuns.
Her favorite nun was Sister Mary Catharine, who at 28 was her gym and math instructor, an extremely attractive woman, who took special interest in Casey. Working with Casey by riding a bike alongside of her as she ran most days after school.
On the day of the accident, everything had been going smoothly and Sister was encouraging Casey to give it her all. Telling her to take smaller strides and possibly it was because Casey was concentrating on the movement of her legs, that she missed a curve and went down, twisting her left ankle rather badly.
