Its not just the lunatic raving, the multi-cultural apologias for murdering maniacal Islamofascists and creeping communism and wealth-redistribution disguised as socialist remedies for all the problems that are plaguin’ our society.
Oh no no no.
Besides the regular daily worship of racists like MalcolmX or murderers like Lenin, Che Guevara and Mao, you can always count on superbly thought out idiocy over at MyDickheadDumbass
Over the past 39 1/2 months, more than 2,500 American soldiers have lost their lives in Iraq. Yet during this entire time — well more than three years — George W. Bush has not attended a single funeral for a soldier who perished during the Iraq conflict. Not one. Stars & Stripes’ Jeff Schogol has the story (via Editor & Publisher).
President Bush has met hundreds of families of fallen soldiers, but he has yet to attend a servicemember’s funeral, he said Tuesday.
“Because which funeral do you go to? In my judgment, I think if I go to one I should go to all. How do you honor one person but not another?” he said.
The appropriate way to express his appreciation to the family members of fallen troops is to meet with them in private, he said.
I think this story speaks for itself.
So what’s your point boyo? That he should attend every funeral of a soldier killed during his entire term of office? Did FDR do that? Johnson? Lincoln? Clinton? Anyone?
If he attended 20 you’d complain he didn’t attend 200, if 200 why not 2000+. Look, its an all volunteer army. These guys volunteered to be soldiers, and soldiers die in the line of duty.
Just like cops and fireman do. Did you attend the funeral of every cop killed in the line of duty in your city? Or fireman? What are you, a chickenhawk? You expect laws to be enforced and fires put out, yet you don’t join up? You don’t respect their sacrifice by attending all their funerals? Does your mayor attend the funeral of every city employed casualty? If not, why not?
When you take every opportunity to bash the President, even when you have no real point, you weaken whatever moral arguments you do have. The President, by all accounts, takes time to condole _privately_ with parents of fallen soldiers (including Shake-sippin’ Sheehan, although she later misrepresented the visit) and THAT speaks for itself. Instead of Clintonesque photo-ops George Bush speaks privately and personally. Don’t you even recognize decency when you see it, or have you lost that talent in your cynical scorched earth hatred of all things Republican?
