…in just a matter of seconds Fuck…I’m Dead will decapitate you, fuck your mouth, and feast on your brain. And when you think you might have a rest from the skull-fucking, they pick you back up and do it again – IN THE EYE SOCKET!
Editor’s note: My little girl is taking piano lessons and recently received an Easy Piano Beatles Hits book, which strips the songs down to their most basic form. I was struck by how good the compositions are. Just more appreciation for the most celebrated composers pop music has ever known.
ABOUT THIS INTERVIEW: In their April/May 1982 issue, the Canadian music magazine Music Express featured an exclusive interview with Paul McCartney. Ray Bonici chatted with Paul about Denny Laine and the breakup of Wings, Elvis Costello, the Beatles, John Lennon’s death, and Paul’s forthcoming LP, Tug Of War. The album was released on April 26th.

I’m prompted to write this because of the death of George Harrison, but its been on my mind for years, actually. Of course, today is a very sad day. He will be missed. I’ve been a Beatles freak since I was a little kid, long after they had broken up I still knew they were the greatest band ever. No pop group has ever had such a profound effect no only on music, pop culture, movies, fashion and literature, but on much deeper things like the peace movement, philosophy and religion. I think George was always in the forefront. He did it in a very humble and self-effacing way. He held the first ever ‘star-studded benefit’, and did it in a way not to glamourize himself, but to play up the cause. (more…)

…this isn’t bad for a debut. With time and direction, this band could be something interesting, as they certainly have the potential. What they choose to do with that remains to be seen.

Artists: MUSHROOMHEAD w/ Dry Cell and Stank

This was a show I absolutely could not wait for. The chance to finally see Mushroomhead live was something not to be missed.
This was an off-date from the Locobazooka tour that features Mushroomehad and Dry Cell alongside bands like Filter, Sevendust, Nonpoint, and Audiovent.
Also, it’s worth noting that Reveille was supposed to play this show, but apparently dropped off the Locobazooka tour the day of or the day before the show. (more…)
Vocal wise, Jasta has a very nice screaming voice, but thats all he does. He never varies his singing in any way, and it really takes away from the album.

I just fucking love Nile, everything about them kick ass, so I definately thought they kicked ass live. I’ve been told that Nile are the current leaders of putting on live Death Metal shows and that is completely the truth.

Paul’s nothing but consistent in his PR spin: just like his revisions of Beatles history, what might have been a reasonably amusing and informative program becomes another installment in The Gospel According to St. Paul.
Ed note: docweasel has been accused of being overly worshipful of St. Paul (see his review of McCartney’s live Tampa concert) so in the interest of balance, here is another opinion of the pretty Beatle and his works. This is a vintage review from the pre-website, lovingly reproduced here and coated with glucose.
