still an outlaw in their eyes...
docweasel.com puts the ecch in eclectic. It's a compendium of articles and projects by our team, which has changed, grown and shrunk over the years, encompassing the work of 40+ people. Much of docweasel.com is NSFW but there's no real pr0n here, only nude models, but they are everywhere and in unexpected places so beware. There are also erotic stories by some of the greatest and most prolific writers in the trade which cover every flavor from vanilla to monkey-brains, so beware again. Most of the writers used pseudonyms and the anonymity gave them freedom to write really out-there stuff because they didn't have to defend it or take responsibility for it. This resulted in some cool stuff. It's all here in the archives.
There's humor, a huge monty python section with the tv show, movies and albums - politics - music - movies - erotica - comics games and so very much more. Explore the feature sections in the menu on the left and the articles in the category menu on the right.
Founded in 2002, the forum flourished with over 500 active members at its peak (posting at least once a week) until 2012, when several server moves in a row left the forum inoperable and the time and will for techs to set it back up was non-existent, so it languished for 6 years. The original was a big php frankenstein, full of original hacks and coding with a plethora of great features. Unfortunately Ikonboard, on which it was based, became abandonware and subseqent updates of php left it inoperable and unfixable without major, major upgrades, far beyond our teams time or inclination to remedy.
The main docweasel.com site had been an shtml site for well over a decade (plain html before that) when Dotster, after a series of editorial blog posts decrying abuses of immigration laws by companies to throw Americans out of work in favor of cheap labor immigrants, suddenly discovered there were topless models on the site and after hosting us in 1996 threw us off the server. Since we had to move anyway we decided to upgrade to wordpress. It made sense to use a WP forum plugin to resurrect the site.
This turned out to be a nightmare because in our flawed judgement we had moved everything to GoDaddy, which has lately instituted a greedy, fucked up policy of choking off your CPU usage in an effort to force people to buy ever-increasing upgrades. As a short-term fix we moved the forum off the docweasel.com site's wordpress build and put it on a new one on a subdomain. Seems to have sped up both sites. So, it is what it is, not near the functionality of the old site but you can start topics in themed forum sections and respond to them. What more could you want?
When the forum shut down for such an extended time we lost a lot of our members. We emailed everyone that it was back up, but people abandon emails over 6 years and most came back dead-letter. The forum was just down too long to come back quickly and with the same popularity it had.
But now it's back (in a reduced form) where you can chat about dw website, music, movies, comics, humor, politics, erotica, games and gaming and just general talk amongst yourselves.
