Rejected PopOnThePop.com logos

by docweasel Aug 21 2007

PopOnThePop.com popbottle

We do a lot of design work, and sometimes the client’s execrable taste causes them to reject some perfectly lovely designs. Poponthepop.com commissioned the teamdwf design team to devise some nifty logos, with the only instruction being use a pop bottle and some bubbles, and this is what we came up with, completely from scratch.

We were going for a sort of puppet effect with a retro feel. Personally, I think its pretty unique and interesting looking, but the Pops felt it was tacky and stupid, I guess.

The first one was for the t-shirt, this one is was for the site header. Instead the lovely JoyA decided to stick with their boring Hollywood Hills font with no frills, which is of course their right, its their site.

Still, this t-shirt design would have sold a treat, we bet though 😉

Oh well, some work some don’t. We loved this pop marionette so much we wanted to share it here so it didn’t fade into obscurity unseen.
