I’m surprised it hasn’t happened yet, and I predict it WILL happen, that all these black people claiming the police, and now citizens, are harassing them but are proven wrong by dashcams and surveillance cams are going to start stating that we don’t know THEIR reality, we can’t understand that police politely asking you to walk against traffic seem condescending and smugly racist from a BLACK perspective, that the woman pulled over for a suspended license felt threatened by the officer’s professional and respectful manner, which she found intimidating and hostile, and you can’t know unless you’ve had the black experience.

Ho-hum, another entitled black elite gets in a situation with the cops, this time, unlike the case where the lady of color was in danger of getting hit by cars because she’s too dumb to walk facing traffic (she feels entitled to walk in the middle of the road because of years of white traffic privilege, or something) this Princeton prof of color had warrants out for her arrest.
And predictably, she was totally in the right and the cops were hostile, mean, racist, intimidating, rude, hateful, unruly, unkind and pretty much RAC-ISS!11 as Robert Byrd at a Klan Night Koffee Klatch.

Whew. To start with, there are 31 issues, more than any other series we’ve undertaken. Second, the powers that be determined that info and reviews of the issues should be included. All this resulted in about 2 weeks of intensive work getting these up, so I hope you appreciate it and we hope the stuff stays up.

Gift of the Magi
They were newlyweds, and poor in all but love. For the first year, that was enough.
For the second, a tightness came to her face, and he looked a bit less elegant, with his thrice turned cuffs. He looked a bit pathetic, going from one place of business to another looking for work after he lost his job at the bank.
She smiled less and they stopped talking of having children, having them soon, anyway. He made due with patched shoes and shiny, threadbare suits. She mended her dresses and tried to be patient with staying home every night of the week and week-ends too, when they used to dance four nights of the week and dine out three before they were married.
All that remained of his former affluency was his heavy gold watch, the pride of his family for generations. Even in his impoverished state, he was always reassured when he pulled it out, hefted it in his hand, the ever true timekeeper. Somehow, it made him feel a little better.
Peace on Earth
Three millennia had passed since the first Christmas. The old pagan gods of war were long forgotten. Only the rocks and a few bristle-cone pines could reflect back on that horrific history entire, from the lonely birth of an unknown babe, to the great Pax Humana.

Nice. He says “let’s look at the care I BOUGHT FOR YOU”, then she gets the fun of hanging them up, unopened, on the wall, instead of getting to actually play with them.
He’s forcing his warped hoarding behaviour onto his kids, pretending he’s doing something nice for THEM, but actually he’s buying the crap for himself.
He’s got cars stacked 4 deep, he can’t even SEE, let alone enjoy in a meaningful way.

Quantum of Solace (2008) Never watched the Daniel Craig Bond movies, although I like Craig. Mostly because I have a reflexive negative response towards hype and these movies were hyped to hell, and in fact I probably wouldn’t have liked them at the time, rife as they are with the starlets and “hot” actors of the period, where it seems like you see this face in every other movie made in these years. That bugs the shit out of me, actors who are hot with casting agents all the sudden so they are ubiquitous. Anyway, this caught my interest and actually kept my eyes on the screen, unable to work while it was going on.

This is my solo acoustic arrangement I use when I play it in my solo set, with chords that voice the melody better than straight majors.
For the easy-guitar version, just replace the sus4, sus2, maj7 and 6/9 with the root major chord.
Try these though, if you are adventurous, it may make you a better guitar player and you might
learn a chord you really like (I particularly enjoy the Bbma7sus4 F6/9 Csus4, which incorporates the melody for “TALK ABOUT IT”)

Worked this up as a video audition for a cover band I was filling in for a couple of weeks.
I play the main lick higher on the neck than most people do I guess because I like the fullness of the lower strings and it just flows for me there for some reason. This has some odd time breaks and can be a finger-twister but once you get your muscle memory up it chugs along on autopilot. I’ve never minded jumping around alot on the neck, keeps me awake.
