Let’s pretend for a minute I actually read the NYT instead of get tipped to its idiocy by other blogs.

I haven’t read any newspaper in years, and it is completely possible I’ve never read a dead-tree copy of the Times. I have, of course, read them online, but only when tipped by Drudge or someone else about a particularly asinine (that’s a high bar for the Slimes) story.

Ok, so here goes:

I was reading an interesting editorial about Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy in the New York Times (reg required) when I was pulled up short by a couple of things.

First off I have to include this disclaimer to fend off trolls: I respect our fighting men (and women) and the work they do. I appreciate their sacrifice and service and believe protecting your country is one of the most important and thankless jobs out there.

I have to think George Will (and Buckley has also been doing it, as well as other commentators) are over-selling the demise of the Republican Party.

I also think its a calculated ploy to energize the so-far lackadaisical involvement and interest in the announced 2008 Republican candidates, versus the Hollywood blockbuster meets the Super Bowl excitement over Obama and Hillary! etc.

Last night the latest darling of the far left, Ciro Rodriguez lost the Democrat primary (which in TX-28 means the election) to Henry Cuellar.The Kos&Kids© and many other leftwingnuts shilled for contributions nationally to defeat Democrat Cueller and install Rodriguez (who had already lost to Cueller when their districts were merged and parts split off in the Delay redistricting) because of Cueller’s many sins against the extremists on the left.

Some commenters chided me for expecting the NRSC come up with candidates to contest every race, and suggested there isn’t enough money or viable candidates to do so.

Well the Democrats managed to do it in this House race, against an entrenched incumbent who probably had the seat locked up, and its lucky for them and bad for Republicans they did, thanks to a selfish, stupid and/or incompetent act by a Republican congressman from California:

Digital imaging finds more nefarious hidden messages in Huckabee For President Ad. This alone should disqualify him from ever posing for a photo again.

OMG! Huckabee’s staff can’t even get its lies straight! They blatantly put a cross, that’s right a FUCKING CROSS, the symbol of Christianity, right there in the their ad, for everyone to see, even little kids, you can’t miss it, its right there in your face, blaring out like a turd in church, insulting everyone who see it, slapping our faces with Huckabee’s disgusting Christian beliefs, blatantly dragging religion into the election, slurring every atheist, Hindu, Muslim, Shintoist and any other religion whose symbol is NOT the cross.

I’m so outraged and foaming at the mouth that I had to look into this, and now the lying, dishonest, insane and criminal Huckabee campaign has come up with not one, but TWO lies, each contradicting the other about what it is. Oh sure, anything but a cross. One says a window, and the other, get this, says a BOOKCASE. Right. And the little girl picking daisies in the LBJ ad was really a monkey in a little girl costume.
