John Kerry has never uttered an honest nor forthright statement in his public life. He exists only to aggrandize Jon Carry, but he is so inept, and, as his old college and military test grades (much lower than President Bush’s) show, he is not very intelligent.
So when he writes a policy or opinion piece, it doesn’t take much to make him out a fool. However, an American Hero like Oliver North is a particularly apt person to destroy a cowardly liar like Kerry.
Oliver North tears apart John Kerry’s prescription for defeat in Iraq with a great piece Recipe for Disaster in today’s Washington Times.
The entire article by Kerry is fatuous and facile, but one line really strikes me as stupid even for Kerry:
“An exit from Iraq will also strengthen our hand in dealing with the Iranian nuclear threat…”
Au contraire, John French Kerry. A premature exit from Iraq will weakenour hand all over the Middle East and particularly toward Iran. Having over 100k US troops across the border is a good way to keep Iran in check. If we withdraw its not inconceivable Iran might actually trump up a reason to invade Iraq, ostensibly to protect its interests or to prop up its proxies in Iraq in an effort to turn the nascent Iraqi democracy into an Iranian vassal state.
Leaving Iraq will demonstrate a lack of US resolve in the face of terrorist blackmail and the vicious and provocative acts of a relatively small and weak group of thugs against a large US Army. It will also betray the freedom loving Iraqis who are counting on us to live up to our promise to not only depose Saddam, but to stick out the hard times until Iraq is stable enough to police its own country and provide security until Iraqi troops are able to do it for themselves.
Cutting and running would also make every American combat death and the sacrifice of our fighting men and women, alive and dead, as futile and worthless as Kerry sought to make those who fought the Viet Nam War.
Every American should wake up each morning and thank the Good Lord some quirk of fate did not deliver us unto the tender mercies of a President Kerry. I cannot think of a major party candidate for president in modern times as ill-suited to lead this country. The fact that Kerry is probably doing this to shore up his bona-fides among the Koskids/Moveon moonbat crowd is even more despicable than his lack of judgment and perfidy vis a vis the Iraqi people. There is probably nothing Kerry would not do, say or betray to gain political advantage, including his own country’s interests and obligations.
