I totally love bookstores. I can get lost among the shelves of books and magazines for hours, and usually leave with armload full of reading material. So when the new bookstore opened at the mall I was in seventh heaven, and made that my favorite place to shop.
It was huge. I had never seen so many books and magazines from all over the world, under one roof. They had little pods with tables and chairs where you could sit, if you wanted to, and read. They even had an adults only section stuck way in the back. I didn’t actually head that way when I entered the store, but I managed to find myself there before I was finished shopping.
The elderly gentleman who ran the place, looked like Santa Claus, and was always friendly and pleasant with a happy welcome greeting. He was usually sitting at the front checkout counter, sometimes hidden by a stack of books.
