The national food fight over who goes first in the ’08 primary season heats up, as states that actually matter are finally and at long last telling Iowa and NH that they can suck it.

The national parties, for reasons I find hard to fathom, are still sticking up for the elitist notion that those 2 states have some sort of hereditary right to the first primary and caucus every presidential election.

They don’t, and they don’t really have the clout to do anything about states that actually matter in the election moving up.

Don’t forget that unpleasantness 1859-1865. I’m sure, had Reid been alive and a (Copperhead) Senator, he would have exhorted Lincoln to surrender his lost war, the U.S. could never forge a democracy, that the Union was a lost cause and Sherman was being routed by the Georgia militia, that Lincoln better change course, surrender at Appomatox un-manumit the slaves.

Yeah, this is very old but its informative that its still hot on YouTube after all this time, and main stream media outlets are still talking about it: NBC and Slate write it up again today, left wing outfits both. And yet lefty extremists The Young Turks seem to think its a “right wing hit-piece” -as an aside, I liked this piece of “righting” by the young turks:

“But that’s what’s great about this particular kind of smear. You throw it out there and the jokes right themselves.”

Yeah, they do. Edwards has been “righted” by this particularly accurate representation of his character and honesty.

Obama’s lasted spitball against the Bush/Cheney regime: Bush has created another Gilded Age.

By now most people who care have read the piece by MICHAEL E. O’HANLON and KENNETH M. POLLACK in which they express (seemingly against their own will and biases) the opinion that not only is the surge working in quantifiable measures, but that the surge deserves to be extended into 2008 and that the war to free Iraq is winnable.

Charles Johnson, the admin and the only one who can actually see the IP adresses of comment posters at LGF is mad at one Dennis Perrin, posting away nervously over at the liberal loonybin HuffPo.

Dennis in Distress makes a ludicrous claim that he was threatened on an LGF comments thread, told to get the heck out or be tracked down by his IP address and rendered an ex-liberal.

Like any good Democrat, he found discretion the better part of valor and beat a hasty skedaddle, according to his own tall tale, aptly named The Liberal Surrender:
